Announcement No.17/2020 Of the Rector of TUL of 14 October 2020 issued on the basis of Ordinance No. 21/2020 of the Rector of TUL of 9 March 2020 on specific measures related to the prevention, counteraction and combating of the SARS-CoV-2 virus at TUL

Information procedure for employees, students and PhD students of Lodz University of Technology in relation to the prevention, counteraction and combating of the SARS-CoV-2 virus

I define the following information obligations for employees, students and PhD students of Lodz University of Technology in the event that they have a positive SARS-CoV-2 test result or come into contact with a person(s) with a positive SARS-CoV-2 test result:

1. A positive test result for SARS-Cov-2 for an employee/student/PhD student:

1) an employee/student/PhD student who has received a positive SARS-CoV-2 test result should immediately undertake the following steps:

a) inform about the event the District State Sanitary Inspector (contact information on https://psselodz.pl/) and follow their instructions,

b) inform the direct supervisor at Lodz University of Technology by phone and/or e-mail about the event (in the case of a student/PhD student respectively the relevant Vice-Dean for Students' Affairs) and forward the decision of the District State Sanitary Inspector of the compulsory quarantine. The Vice-Dean for Students' Affairs referred to in this Announcement should also be understood as the Director of the College for students of the College, the Director of the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School of Lodz University of Technology for PhD students of the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School of Lodz University of Technology and the Head of Doctoral Studies for doctoral students;

2) the direct superior or the Vice-Dean for Students' Affairs should immediately undertake the following steps accordingly:

a) prepare a list of employees/students/PhD students of Lodz University of Technology who have been in contact with the infected person from the date of the positive test result and notify them,

b) instruct employees who have had contact with the infected person from the date of the test to perform work remotely, and if, due to the nature of the work, it is not possible to perform it remotely, the direct superior is obliged to instruct the employee to self-isolate in home conditions and provide the relevant information together with the decision of the District State Sanitary Inspector to the e-mail address of the Payroll and Accounts Department akp@adm.p.lodz.pl,

c) instruct students/PhD students who have had contact with the infected person from the date of the test to attend only those classes that are conducted remotely,

d) decide to temporarily change the mode of direct classes attended by employees/students/PhD students who have had contact with the infected person from the date of the test to a distance mode,

e) provide the Anti-Crisis Staff with information on the actions taken, including the prepared list of contacts with a person who tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 (name, surname, contact phone number) in an e-mail sent to office.vrector.students@adm.p.lodz.pl

3) assigning to remote work/learning, changing the mode of learning of a given class to a remote one or recommending self-isolation in home conditions shall be issued once for a period of up to 10 days from the date of the first contact with the infected person, which took place after carrying out a positive test.

2. Direct contact - a case of direct contact of an employee/student/PhD student with a person who tested positive for SARS-CoV-2:

1) an employee/student/PhD student who has had direct contact with a person who tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 should do the following without delay:

a) inform the District State Sanitary Inspector about the event (contact information at https://psselodz.pl/),

b) inform the direct supervisor at Lodz University of Technology by phone and/or e-mail about the event (in the case of a student/PhD student respectively the relevant Vice-Dean for Students' Affairs) and forward the decision of the District State Sanitary Inspector of the compulsory quarantine.

2) the direct superior or the Vice-Dean for Students' Affairs should immediately undertake the following steps accordingly:

a) prepare a list of employees/students/PhD students of Lodz University of Technology who have been in contact with the person referred to in point 2 from the moment of contact and notify them

b) provide the Anti-Crisis Staff with information on the actions taken, including the prepared list of contacts (name, surname, contact phone number) in an e-mail sent to office.vrector.students@adm.p.lodz.pl,

c) instruct the employee who have had contact with the person who tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 to perform work remotely, and if, due to the nature of the work, it is not possible to perform it remotely, the direct superior is obliged to instruct the employee to self-isolate in home conditions and provide the relevant information together with the decision of the District State Sanitary Inspector to the e-mail address of the Payroll and Accounts Department akp@adm.p.lodz.pl,

d) instruct a student/PhD student who has had direct contact with a person who tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 to participate only in those classes that are taught remotely,

e) decide to temporarily change the mode of direct classes attended by employees/students/PhD students who have had contact with the person who was tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 to a distance mode,

3) the direct superior or, as appropriate, the Vice-Dean for Students’ Affairs for persons who have had contact with the person referred to in point 2, from the moment of their contact with the infected person may likewise:

a) instruct the employee who has had contact with the person referred to in point 2 to perform work remotely, or if, due to the nature of the work, it is not possible to perform it remotely, the direct superior may request the employee to self-isolate in home conditions (it is recommended to order remote working or advise self-isolation in home conditions),

 

b) instruct the student/PhD student who has had contact with the person referred to in point 2 to attend only those classes which are conducted remotely (it is recommended to order to attend only those classes which are conducted remotely),

c) decide to temporarily change the mode of direct classes attended by employees/students/PhD students who have had contact with the person referred to in point 2 to a distance mode,

4) assigning to remote work/learning, changing the mode of learning of a given class to a remote one or recommending self-isolation in a home conditions shall be issued once for a period of up to 10 days from the date of the first contact of an employee/student/PhD student of Lodz University of Technology with the person who tested positive for SARS-CoV-2, which took place after carrying out a positive test.

3. Indirect contact - a case of contact of an employee/student/PhD student with a person who is in quarantine (without a positive SARS-CoV-2 test result):

1) an employee/student/PhD student at Lodz University of Technology, having become aware of contact with a person who is in quarantine (without a positive SARS-CoV-2 test result), should immediately inform the direct superior at Lodz University of Technology by phone and/or e-mail about the incident (in the case of a student/PhD student respectively, the appropriate Vice-Dean for Students’ Affairs);

2) the superior of the employee who has had contact with the person in quarantine (without a positive SARS-CoV-2 test result), may order the employee to perform work remotely, or if, due to the nature of the work, it is not possible to perform it remotely, the direct superior may request the employee to self-isolate in home conditions (it is recommended to order remote working or advise self-isolation in home conditions),

3) the Vice-Dean for Students' Affairs may instruct the student/PhD student who has had contact with the person in quarantine (without a positive SARS-CoV-2 test result) to attend only those classes which are conducted remotely (it is recommended to order to attend only those classes which are conducted remotely),

4) the Vice-Dean for Students' Affairs may decide to temporarily change the mode of direct classes attended by employees/students/PhD students who have had contact with the person in quarantine (without a positive SARS-CoV-2 test result) to a distance mode,

5) assigning to remote work/learning, changing the mode of learning of a given class to a remote one shall be issued once for a period until the end of the quarantine of the person referred to in point 3.

4. The Announcement shall enter into force on 14 October 2020.
