Ladies and Gentlemen, Dear Students, Doctoral Students and Employees of Lodz University of Technology,

During the course of the past year, the time of the pandemic, all of us, as citizens and as students, doctoral students and employees of the university have experienced unexpected disruptions to our daily lives, work and studies. With great effort and creativity, members of our academic community have faced the challenges brought by the pandemic. We have reorganized our work, research and education so that we could continue them without major disruptions.

I would like to thank you very sincerely for this effort.

Unfortunately, the state of the pandemic and the resulting threats and limitations are protracted and it should be assumed that in the coming months they will affect us to an extent similar to the one in ending winter semester.

I therefore inform you that in the summer semester of the academic year 2020/21, until further notice, all rules and restrictions on the operation of the university which were in force in the winter semester are maintained. This applies in particular to the process of education, which for all forms and levels will be carried out, in principle, in a remote mode, using methods and tools for distance learning.

The University authorities, including the appointed Crisis Management Centre, are currently monitoring changes in the epidemic situation and legal regulations in addition to taking appropriate decisions and actions adjusting the operation of the University.

We all have great hopes in the effects of COVID-19 vaccines and the final suppression of the pandemic. I am optimistic that at the beginning of the next academic year, all of us - staff, students and doctoral students - will be able to fulfil our mission of scientific research and education within the walls of Lodz University of Technology.

I wish you all good health and good spirits. With kind regards

prof. dr hab. inż. Krzysztof Jóźwik
Rector of Lodz University of Technology
