Announcement No 12 /2020 of the Rector of TUL of 21 May 2020 on accommodation in student dormitories of Lodz University of Technology in the period from 25 May 2020 to 30 September 2020

Announcement No 12 /2020 of the Rector of Lodz University of Technology of 21 May 2020 on accommodation in student dormitories of Lodz University of Technology in the period from 25 May 2020 to 30 September 2020.

Announcement issued on the basis of Ordinance No 21/2020 of the Rector of Lodz University of Technology of 9 March 2020 on specific measures related to the prevention, counteraction and combat of SARS-CoV-2 at Lodz University of Technology

In connection with the partial lifting of the restrictions on the operation of Lodz University of Technology due to the prevention, mitigation and control of the SARS-CoV-2 virus as of 25 May 2020, I hereby inform that:

1. In the period from 25 May 2020 to 28 August 2020, all existing regulations and restrictions concerning the Academic Housing Estate of the Lodz University of Technology, introduced by previous Announcements of the Rector of Lodz University of Technology, Vice-Rector for Students' Affairs, TUL Crisis Management Centre and the Head of the Academic Housing Estate of the Lodz University of Technology, remain in force.

2. It is possible to apply for permission to return to Dormitory for the period from 25 May to 12 July 2020 by the following persons who temporarily left their Dormitories. Such applications may be submitted only by: a) students in the final semester of their studies who, in order to complete their thesis, require the use of the research infrastructure of the university;

b) students who are formally employed in research projects implemented by the higher education institution;

c) participants in doctoral programmes and doctoral students of the TUL Interdisciplinary Doctoral School who, in order to carry out their current research work, require the use of the research infrastructure of the university;

d) students carrying out work placement internships scheduled in the study programme in Lodz.

Applications should be submitted to the Head of the Academic Housing Estate, however, the application must be accompanied by: - in the case of a) an opinion of the thesis supervisor confirming the need for the student's direct presence at the university;

- in the case of b) an opinion of the project manager confirming the necessity of the student's direct presence at the university;

- in the case of c) an opinion of the academic supervisor confirming the necessity of the student's direct presence at the university;

- in case of d) a document confirming the work placement internship in Lodz during the period of the planned accommodation. Undocumented applications will not be considered.

3. The applications for permission to return to the dormitory for the above mentioned persons should be submitted by e-mail to the following addresses: office.so@adm.p.lodz.pl or janina.mrozowska@p.lodz.pl or in writing, with the applicant's e-mail address, at the reception desk of building C15, Lodz, Aleja Politechniki 3a.

4. The decision of the Head of the Academic Housing Estate is final and is not subject to appeal.

5. Those who are permitted to return shall return to the dormitory to their previously occupied room.

6. It is possible to apply for an extension of accommodation in a dormitory for the above-mentioned persons for the next period: from 13 July to 28 August 2020. Justified applications should be submitted to the Head of the Academic Housing Estate in accordance with the rules set out in points 2-4 of this announcement.

7. Persons returning to student dormitories are required to sign declarations of health and sanitary safety in the administration of the given student dormitory.

8. In the period from 29 August 2020 to 27 September 2020, it is planned to resume accommodation by persons who had the right to accommodation but left student dormitories due to the suspension of classes at the university.

9. The fees paid for the period of leaving student dormitories will be credited against the fees for accommodation in case of resumption of accommodation or refunded in case of resignation from further accommodation.

10. The communication enters into force on 21 May 2020.
