Announcement No 13/2020 of the Rector of Lodz University of Technology of 21 May 2020 issued on the basis of Ordinance No 21/2020 of the Rector of Lodz University of Technology of 9 March 2020 on specific measures related to the prevention, counteraction and combat of SARS-CoV-2 at TUL

Announcement No 13/2020 of the Rector of Lodz University of Technology of 21 May 2020 issued on the basis of Ordinance No 21/2020 of the Rector of Lodz University of Technology of 9 March 2020 on specific measures related to the prevention, counteraction and combat of SARS-CoV-2 at Lodz University of Technology

 

In accordance with the Announcement No. 10/2020 of the Rector of the Lodz University of Technolo-gy of 21 May 2020 on the conditions for conducting classes and carrying out tests and examinations at the Lodz University of Technology in the period from 25 May 2020 to 30 September 2020, the follow-ing rules of conducting tests and examinations using distance learning methods and tools are hereby established:

1. For tests and examinations conducted orally:

a) the teacher conducting final test or examination sets the date, pursuant to the provisions of An-nouncement No. 10/2020 of 21 May 2020, and, on the day of the final test or examination, shall connect with individual students via the MS Teams or the Webinaria PŁ educational platform;

b) the teacher shall identify the student (student or doctoral student) on the basis of a photographic document indicated by that person and ask a question about his/her readiness to take the test or the examination. The document identifying the identity must be shown in a camera view by the student taking the test or examination;

c) the teacher shall ask questions or assign tasks to be completed and the student (student or doc-toral student) shall answer. In the event of poor quality or interruption, the teacher may decide to change the set of questions;

d) at the teacher's request, the participant of the test or examination should show the room he/she is in with a camera.

e) the teacher conducting the test or examination shall prepare a protocol of the test or examina-tion, in which the participant's details, the date and time of the test or examination, the ques-tions or tasks to be solved, the assessment of individual questions or tasks must be recorded;

f) the teacher conducting the final test or examination shall inform the participant of the grades given during the course of the test or examination,

g) if the questions or tasks submitted require an additional written form of reply, the participant shall record this reply and send it in the form of an e-mail to the teacher, and if the solution has been recorded on paper, a photograph or scan of the reply shall be sent as an attachment to the e-mail (the e-mail must be sent from the student's individual account in the university's e-mail system and addressed respectively to the student's and teacher's mailbox during the course of the final test or examination);

h) the teacher shall sign the written protocol for each participant, but the protocol may involve more than one participant, in which case each page of the protocol must be signed. The proto-col shall be kept by the teacher in the same way as the tests and written examination sheets.

2. For the final test and written examinations, a distinction is made between two forms - platform test or written form:

a) the teacher conducting a final test or examination sets the date of the examination, in accord-ance with the provisions of Announcement No. 10/2020 of 21 May 2020, and, on the day of conducting the final test or examination, makes the instructions and tasks to be performed by the participants of the final test or examination (student-tom or doctoral students) available;

b) if applications for defining participants, start date and duration after which problems and tasks cannot be solved will be used to carry out the test or exam, the teacher shall inform the partici-pants on how to access the test or exam forms;;

c) if carrying out a test or an examination requires the participants to prepare/work out written so-lutions, the instructions and tasks shall be sent by university e-mail or placed in the "task" ac-tivity of the WIKAMP platform, in the form of files secured with a password in MS WORD format, and the access password shall be made available through an application enabling voice and video communication with participants on an agreed date (including the exact time) of starting the test or examination; During the course of the test and the exam, the teacher may ask each participant to switch on the camera and microphone, as well as to show a document with a photo confirming the participant's identity to the camera; after the specified time for solving the tasks, the participants of the exam send photos or scans of sheets with the solutions by universi-ty e-mail to the teacher or upload them to the platform's "task" activity, while the sheets with the solutions must be sent to the teacher not later than 30 minutes after the specified date of completion of the test or the exam (the time refers to the appearance of the e-mail in the teach-er's inbox);

d) the date of announcement of the results of the tests and examinations conducted as well as providing correct answers and solutions must be in accordance with the provisions of the Study Regulations at Lodz University of Technology

3. 3. For the dates of final test and examinations agreed outside the exam session, the teacher shall register participants. The way and method of registration shall be determined by the teacher.

4. The announcement enters into force on 25 May 2020.
